- The monosodium salt of the levo isomer of the thyroid hormone
thyroxine, used for replacement therapy in reduced thyroid function,
administered orally.
- Pruritus
- An annoying skin disturbance which is often amenable neither to diagnostic
nor to therapeutic interventions. Occasionally, generalized pruritus can be
ameliorated by treating the underlying disease (e.g. iron deficiency,
hyperthyroidism)
- Thyroglobulin
- An iodine-containing glycoprotein occurring in the colloid of the
follicles of the thyroid. Thyroglobulin combines with iodine to
form the iodothyronines, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).
