FOODS

This section will be devoted to describing the foods which have influence on thyroid physiology.  The hyperlink column to the left will take you to files of specific food items.

Hopefully we'll be able to learn enough about thyroidal function and the effects that foods have upon the thyroid that we'll be able to offer a program of thyroid correction that doesn't involve taking nutritional supplements.

At this point I feel that this may be possible.  For example if hypers were to switch from eating high zinc animal products to high copper beans and nuts, this could make a substantial difference.

On the other hand if silver proves to be a benefit for hyperthyroidism associated TED (thyroid eye disease), it may be very difficult to find out what foods are high in silver.  Taking a silver colloidal supplement may be the best long-term solution if this all proves to be correct.

(To be continued.)
